In the mid '90's I bought my first proper camera and set out on a journey to explore and capture the world around me through the viewfinder and the lens of my newly acquired toy, a used "Ricoh" 35mm film camera with a 50mm lens. It was a workhorse that faithfully served me and my photographic needs and wants for well over 10 years.
During this time my focus was exclusively on fine art black and white film photography.
After switching to digital camera I started to explore color photography and all the joys and frustrations it brought with it. It opened up a new door into some exciting photographic funky adventures. Over the years I have used a few digital cameras from different manufacturers, with various lens set ups and combinations.
Street scenery, urban environment and architectural landscapes have always been the primary focus in my photographic explorations since the very beginning. Those are my roots, my bread and butter. In recent years I have expanded my range of interests to include the Alberta prairies and the Rocky Mountain foothills photography, which has been an extremely enjoyable and refreshing ride.
The mood and the atmosphere I strive to create in my photographic expressions are nostalgic thoughtfulness and contemplative melancholy.
